Oooo, I like this! Love seeing how people's brains work. I find there are many ways to visualize the complicated things in life. The more creative tend to be the more enlightening.

Thanks! Do you see any problems or additions to the chart?

Well, what strikes me is your salinity will indirectly effect the big three. For example, mixing to a higher salinity will mix to a higher Alkalinity. Seriously, though, do not get me started or I may end up with a flow chart larger than the actual ocean.

I guess to me, Temperature, Salinity and pH are connected in a triangle. They are the "simple" parameters that are often overlooked as people dig into the weeds for answers. The big three are impacted by all of them.

Right, but those levels of oxygen are balanced and controlled partly by temperature and salinity. What I am saying is the salinity level controls the balancing of ion levels in general.

Temperature on the other hand controls the metabolic rate of critters which will determine their oxygen and other needs.

I use natural sea water will it still effect them?

@NY_Caveman @Hemmdog all this talk of dissolved oxygen is concerning me, do I need to do anything to adjust or test it?
No. Just be aware in something like a power failure there will likely by less oxygen available due to lack of flow and turnover. Also know oxygen is available in water at higher concentrations when the temperature is lower. So in a power outage in the summer, higher temperatures are a double whammy.

I got a ATO tonight I went with the Corabox A100 ATO 2, so far so good my only complaint is the instructions are pretty ****, the double sided tape that it came with didn’t hold the weight and the suction cap seems sketchy

They are just being more specific. No, I personally don't see an issue. There are lots of variables in each tank that eventually find balance. Just like the ocean.

Okay cool, thanks mate

Ok thank you

I would mount your electrical stuff to something away from the ato reservoir. Imo.
Not much room within the cord range unfortunately and everywhere nearby has electricals, there is the safest spot for now unfortunately
