I kept a hitchicker. I got 5 of the Florida mantis in my liverock order. They never really broke anything until I tried to contain on in a small critter keeper in the sump. That was more of a jail break than anything though. They do seem to have different personalities so if you get an extremely aggressive one maybe it would break things. They seem happy just caring for their homes and eating.
