Hoe large of a tank you you need to make a small colony of pearly jawfish (3-5). Is it even recommended to keep them in colonies.

They are social and you can definitely keep several. I want to say two per 24x24 inch space. I read about it in a book I have but exact information I can not recall.

Thanks for the info my tank from what I can tell rn will be a 24 x 24 cube 60 gal

Found it in fenners book. It says 2 feet per but I think that is generalized because it states pearlys live 12 inches apart in the wild.

KPA sells mated pairs and that would be your best bet in a 60 cube. You can sign up for email and get notified when they get a pair in.

I was browsing forums and I found them Thanks a lot

no problem. They are an excellent source for fish as you are buying directly from a diver. A lot less stress on those fish.
I didn't know that, that is really awesome.
