How do I get my jawfish to make his "burrow" in the front of the tank because right not he is in the back behind a rock and you can't see him.

My Blue Spotted did the same thing. I got mine to go where I wanted by putting a mound of extra sand where I wanted him to be and then made it even more enticing by putting a bunch of shells there too. It took him a couple of days, but it did work. You might be successful too if you try that. Good Luck!

+1
You can guide them towards where you want by making as Connie stated a mound of course sand and rubble, but also make the area secure feeling....not out in the open where the fish will feel vulnerable. You will also have to slowly disturb and destroy the other burrow or he may not feel the need to move.

Okay sounds good. Ill try that ill let you know what happens

Okay cool story so hears what happened, he started his burrow in the back of this rock at the bottom and I was looking today and couldn't find him in the hole and finally I found him in a hole in the rock, the hole starts at the bottom somewhere in his burrow and leads to the top here's a picture of the burrow and where he sits now.

The hole is in the bottom left of this rock

Cute! I have never seen one do that before. He must feel very safe in there
You can still try building a mound out front with sand and rubble and see if he will move....but I doubt a burrow would feel as safe as being in solid rock LOL
Can you rotate the rock so the hole is more towards the front, or is it already out front? I can't really tell from the pix.
I just really love the camp personality of jaw fish. Can't wait to get mine for my fowlr....gotta wait a couple more weeks before I can add another fish.

Yeah the hole is facing directly toward the front. I couldn't have asked for a better spot for him to go to.

Yay! That's awesome! I am also waiting to add one to our reef tank. I just LOVE his eye poking out and watching! He is too precious! So glad it worked out!

My pistol shrimp has a similar rock. I call it the rock from Clue, because it has passageways. There is at least 2 holes that go through the rock that he uses. I love your jawfish in the rock though, really cute.

Yeah he's prolly my new favorite fish.:)

He has moved again and is on the other side of the tank now.. He's in the back but the good part is its against the glass so you can see in his burrow
