I have this stuff growing on the bottom live rocks on my tank and nowhere else. It doesn't look like any algae I have ever seen. It's getting to be a nuisance as it breaks loose ant floats in my tank. My tank has been up for about 7 months and I'm about to put some anemones in it. Sorry the pics aint that great.

Looks like bryozoans... a natural filter feeder in the ocean. So not a bad thing. Don't take my identification as fact though... there are many on here that will know more than me.

You are ok. What you need is a clean up crew. Once you get a big clean up crew the rock will take care of itself.

I hope so, its getting so bad it is covering up my coralline algae real bad

what size is your aquarium and what do you have as a cleanup crew?

60 gallon. I only have about 4 hermit crabs, a peppemint shrimp, snails. I just bought 8 more crabs and will buy some more next week. Would a lawnmower blennie eat it?

Lawnmower blenny will not help you much. If you want it to go away, the best bet would be some turbo snails. They will mow it down.
