I picked this up recently and just thought it was so cool... It's a pectinia. I have one called a PPE pectinia but this one looks different.

Anyone know much about Pectinias? I have it in lower light right now...

Thanks I just had to have it. I don't know much about their care. I hear they are similar to mycedium

So you got it!!! LOL

I really like the solid green rim on this one!! Nice pickup!

LOL! The big green "bullseye" in the center just called to me. I haven't seen anything like it. I hope it does well

would't mind hearing some more about care requirements on these guys, I just picked up one as well...

Anyone anyone. All I was told is to start it in medium light and give it space since like chalices they can have large sweeper tentacles. The structure is very unique but have been told they behave similar to mycedium.

Are Pectinas going to be the next acan or chalice? lol. There are some really nice Pectinas coming in lately.

I have a small plain-jane one. They have very similar characteristics and requirements to chalices. I haven't had any issues with sweeper tentacles however.

nice looks just like the one i got, keep it in really low light. Too much light and it will start to lose the rim color and the dark brown will turn light brown. Found that out with mine, moved back into shade and regained the colors again.

They aren't much in the way of feeders, at least not mine, but has shown some growth, i do believe they will grow about the same rate as slow growing chalices. Keep away from other corals due to sweepers and they are easily stung by other corals.

I hadn't heard of this coral before. Those are some really cool growth patterns! Looks like a very nice pickup.
