Hey folks,

Has anyone had a gigantea successfully bud off a baby gig? I know there is a thread on the other site talking about this. In said thread, OP I believe ended up losing the animal to either bacterial infection or suspected chemical warfare between s. gigantea and h. magnifica.

So...I got this in today. Picture 1 is just after arrival. I noticed what seemed to be a very large foot, or maybe his foot was torn. He has 2 feet!

Picture 2 is of the mouth. In the top right section there is a hump along the mouth where the second foot has formed. It appears open as it was just unbagged.

Picture 3 is about 5 hours in QT. Starring to get a better shape to it. This is when I was more confident in what was going on

I don't have a good picture of the bottom as I don't want to rough house this guy. It is currently in a precautionary overnight cipro bath.

Curious to see how this pans out.

My h. magnifica had a baby. It was acting weird. I could not see the second mouth. It was really spread out over its rock length wise for a week or 2. Then went back to normal. about a month later i came home from a camping trip and saw the offspring about the size of a desert plate. It has crawled out from under the mom. Its now below the big one. It has taken about 3 weeks to color up.

That's really cool! This seems like it's ready to explore.
