Pedro's new NUVO EXT 75 build

Thanks for sharing pics of your 75 ext from IM, especially the plumbing. I'm looking at this tank and one from Mode aquariums. Other than the gate valve, did you have to buy any additional parts to finish the plumbing?
I basically had to buy most of the plumbing. The only plumbing included with the tank are the short pieces that go in the overflow and the returns. So the extra pipes, couplings, elbows and what not I had to buy.

thx for the quick reply. Your answer is probably going to push me closer to buying the Mode tank. Not only because of the plumbing (Mode includes all necessary plumbing), but the price also includes the glass sump. Hope your tank is doing well.

Well done @mich2599 ! The tank looks awesome ! I love the two 4 bulb ATI fixtures, unique look. How are you liking the IM EXT 75g , I am currently setting up a IM 30L EXT , have considered your tank as a possible upgrade down the road lol

I love it! Would buy this tank over again over any other brand. I love that I don’t have the overflow inside which takes up a lot of space. It is dead quiet once you have the right amount of flow. I also love the stand which does not get damaged by water. Better overall dimensions than other 75 gallon tanks as well if you ask me.

Added an Apex AFS as I am away most of the day and hate to feed late.

I had problems with one of my Nero pumps not responding to the app. After contacting AI, I sent in my old one and the same day they received it I got a notification saying they had sent me a package. I thought they had replaced the bluetooth module, but instead they sent me a brand spanking new Nero. I have to say they will continue to earn my business. Their customer service was top notch.

Yeah, they are pretty good about that. I had a AI HD Prime go bad on me. They upgraded me to the 16 HD Prime and sent the replacement out before I sent the old one in... of course they took my credit card#

That was my first piece of equipment that has gone bad one me. Luckily it was still under warranty. I won it back when BRS was giving away points and used them to buy the Nero.

Cool.
My light wasn't bad. It was the connection between the light and power brick that kept shorting out. I had to twist it a certain way, and if it moved the electrical connection would break. I expected them to offer me a new electrical cord (power brick side). They immediately said we'll send you out an updated version of the light.

Keep the Pics coming, great build always wanted one of these tanks.

A little update:

Everything seems to be healthy and growing. I have lost both of my wrasses as they decided to jump out, so did the goby and the purple fire fish. Waiting to go for a trip to the “LFS” (1 Hr away) to get another goby and another wrasse once they start to get shipments in.

I guess you're not considering a lid? My tank will feature wrasses and I won't put them in my tank without a lid. I know they can get expensive, as i just ordered one from Safe Top Lids for $358.

p.s. the tank is looking nice.

I may purchase a kit from BRS at some point.

Getting some plumbing done today. Can’t go on as I am missing a tee and an elbow which should come in tomorrow. Also picked up this little guy to keep an eye on the tank while away.

Where did you get your plumbing fittings at? In addition, do you have supply list of what you got?

Well got all the plumbing done today. Made a rookie mistake as you all can see. Had to cut the pipe and luckily I had ordered more 3/4 unions which came in today. Also had to disconnect the sump from my tank to put it under the stand to see how everything was going to be plumbed. Luckily, I had a wet dry sump that I am using until I get the new tank going. Will run a leak test tomorrow and if they are no leaks I will start to transfers everything over. New tank will go where the old one is so I will need to move it. Also need to hang up another 4 bulb ATI fixture. If you ask me, I did pretty good for my first time plumbing a tank :)

Your plumbing looks quite clean and professional, however I think I read somewhere the return pipes need to be the same length from the T. If not, I guess the pressure would be uneven?

I was going to get a Mode tank, but I found that their service dept. was virtually non-existent. I ordered the IM Nuvo EXT-75 one week, and I had it the next in perfect condition.

GL with the new IM tank. Really nice tanks.

I knew what I was getting into with Mode, so I had no surprises. If you u read the first page of my build thread, it explains pretty much everything.
