I have a nano and that said there is no room for anything. Would a pellet reactor like the one BRS has work to remove both nitrates and phos?

With a biopellet reactor, the dissolved O2 will drop dramatically and kill fish and corals if you do not have a good skimmer that provides a lot of aeration.

Thanks for the heads up. It's a nano with a sub par skimmer. So the pellets is out.

How many fish you have in your nano? Are you overstocked? Look like regular WC for you are must. WC will reduce your nitrates and phosphates.

What is WC? It is a 28 gal with 3 small fish. A mandarin, 6 line and a small clown. The tank has several soft corals but it also has algae issues. Nitrates are 5-10 and I do water changes to keep phos somewhat low. They really need to design the good skimmer for these enclosed nano tanks.

They do, check out the tunze 9002.

Do you mix your own saltwater? WC = waterchanges. How much and how often do you do them? Also how long has the tank been setup?

I looked up that tunze and even that is too big unless I were to use it in the center rear chamber. That is were the sponge and media housing is.

I do mix my own using RO and about every 2 weeks more or less. The water quality does not seem bad. The highest my phos were was .5. But that may because the algae consumes most of it so I am only measuring what is left. I have GFO in a mesh bag but there is no real water flow movement in the rear sump area and I believe that good flow through the GFO is needed to work right.
