Pencil Urchin Question

i just put a pencil Urchin in my tank yesterday evening & from now until this morning it only moved about a few inches. I know they aren’t fast movers, but is this normal !?

Urchins will stay put if they have a reason, there may be food in the spot it's in or it is being lethargic due to being introduced to a new environment. Pencil urchins also don't do well in captivity sometimes since they are more of an omnivore species of urchin instead of a herbivore. Give it a chunk of shrimp or nori and see if that perks it up.

Yeah I was assuming it was just cause I introduced it to a new environment, yes, there is long hair algae where he currently is. I’ll try the shrimp as well. Thanks for your input

Pencil urchin will eat coral, FYI...
