Hi everyone!
I’m new to this thread and have a general question. My husband and I are remodeling our house and want to include a peninsula 650 up against our cabinets/countertop of one side of our kitchen so the tank creates a barrier between the kitchen and dining rooms. Do any of you have pictures of something similar? I’m having a hard time explaining it clearly to our cabinet maker and haven’t found much online.
Thanks so much in advance!
Chandra

First, welcome to R2R Chandra and your new reefing family. Although I have a peninsula, it separates our dining and living areas, so not against the cabinets. I'm sure there are some out there so hopefully they'll chime in and share their pictures.

Thanks so much!

Quick question - do you have the tank freestanding? Do you find it too low or is the viewing level about right? Any problems wirh the tank? Heard they are great, but thought I would ask anyway :)

Thank you again!

I don't have a RS Reefer (which is what I'm assuming you're contemplating), mine was a build job myself, and yes, it's free standing. My stand puts the bottom of the tank at 40" which works out perfectly in our situation. It's great for standing or for viewing while sitting either at the dining table or in the family room. In my case, everything is under the tank because it backs to an exterior wall so no room for a "fish room". There is a link to my build thread below my signature if you'd like to take a look. There are so many awesome peninsula tanks on this site you're sure to get a feeling of what can be accomplished.

Mssxncity, if you didn't know it before, you can click on the words "120 gallon Peninsula Mixed Reef" near the bottom of David's post and you can see his build.
