I'm wondering how other owners of peninsula style or Cube style tanks have their powerheads situated? My tank is viewable from three equal sides and two vortechs on the sides is an eyesore. But if I place them on the back flanking the overflow, the flow will be from back to front. My brain wants to believe that this is a traditional "long" tank, with flow from side to side. My eyes say otherwise, you've got two powerheads mucking up the viewing window ya knucklehead.
My guess is, the corals and inhabitants could care less which direction comes from, amiright?

Im in the process of setting up a peninsula at this very moment. I am setting it up to where the return is on the opposite end from the overflow, and i have a gyre mounted just below my overflow box to try and keep it looking clean. I may mount my 2 mp10s just below the gyre to see what happens but it isn't a permanent thing.

Corals dont care as long as they aren't being beaten to death by the flow. Just make sure you have good flow throughout the tank and things should be happy

I'm also in the process of setting up a peninsula aquarium. However, mine is drop-off so the flow will be a tad different. I'm going to have it so that my two mp10s go on the back they'll be semi hidden by the rockwork, I'll then utilize the return as another means for water moment. I figure with the return I can add a flexible line and have it face in whichever direction I choose to work with the mp10s to create a flow cycle I like.
