So I was in planning stage for Redsea 500 Peninsula but I am not sure I’m 100% sold.

The waterbox 4820 is currently $2400

Redsea 500 is currently $3300

Any owners with waterbox or redsea peninsulas that can chime in ?

I’m not sure why I should spend a grand on the redsea version for a bit more size.

Also do we suspect Redsea comes out with G2 in the peninsulas, if so I would rather wait for those !

I was in the same boat, actually ordered the water box 4820 when it went on sale, but a few days later the p500 went on sale too for only a little bit more so I cancelled the WB and was excited for the RS, the size was perfect for my needs where the WB was a little smaller than I wanted to go. If you wait till October they may go on sale again. No idea about the g2 but I'm beyond happy with the p500.

was in same boat a few month ago. went back and forth on wb4820 and p500. pulled trigger on wb4820. haven't looked back. don't think you could go wrong on either. i also have a 150 gal but like the peninsula more. modified the sump for a reefmat. the reefmat 500 fits good. modified the away side of cabinet to have a pull out to mount all then neptune gear. like it alot. good luck with which ever one you get

Yeah I was wondering if they would go on sale in October , but even then I’ll have to spend another $700 for the redsea .

I want to just grab the waterbox now but I feel patient enough to wait for a sale on red seas

Could you post a pic of ur waterbox ?

I was real happy with the 105 display volume vs the 4820 and the ~80 gal display. I was moving up from a 90 and there was no way I was going smaller than that. The 105/137 total tank volume of the p500 will give you more options for fish. The next size up on the WB was a consideration but I wanted to keep my expenses on water changes down and a little easier maintenance vs a high volume tank.

I’m estimating for the p500 and it seems like it might be worth it.
Does redsea ever do the discounts on their site or only BRS?

I think you have to order through a distributer. I bought mine through saltwateraquarium.com. Got several hundred points I was able to apply to other gear down the road.
There's a lot of good build threads for the p500. I will say this some people hate the valve but I have had zero issues, dead silent. I run mine pretty much stock in an effort to keep everything simple. Only "mod" is I use filter cups, it should come with 2, I had 2 others already. But I bought some cheap filter socks and cut the top 1/4 off, I stick the sock down in the cups and done. Washing them is super easy. I also added a return check valve, to keep the display tank from draining so much into the sump.

A lot of quality tanks out there, Cade makes some nice looking peninsulas, just a little too pricey for me.

Yeah cade is nice just too much width on the peninsula for my opinion.

Love the check valve idea.
