I have a 5' waterbox 6626 peninsula and i'm not happy with the flow on the far end. I have one 6105 on each side of the overflow for a total of 2. The tank is just rock and sand now, no corals or other flow restrictors. I don't like the high power i need to get good flow on the far side.....not to mention its got quite a circular flow.

So logic says, put a pump on the other side! The tank is 3/4" glass which makes pump selection difficult. I'm looking at getting a FX350 and having new magnets made.......but i'd like to here some of the innovation other peninsula owners have done for flow.

Thanks for your help!

Not sure to the specifics of your water box tank. I have an eight foot peninsula as well and refuse to put power head magnets On any of the viewing panes. What I did to improved flow on the dist end was two fold.

1. I ran my return line to the distal end and that is where it enters the tank.
2. Did a closed loop from ran completely through the bottom of the tank

Another option that come to mind is get a Tunze “rock” or two and scape those rocks wherever you want on the far end.

Sorry I couldn’t give more specific help

I couldn't get the flow I wanted in my 120 (mostly softies and LPS) without putting a powerhead on both ends. So I put a Maxpect 330 gyre on each end. One gyre is on the overflow with the magnet inside the overflow. It doesn't bother me at all.

I’ve managed to keep the far side of my reefer 650 clear by using 3 Mp40s. I also chose corals that fit the flow conditions. Sps closest to the pumps progressing out to LPS.

Do you find that a gyre on the overflow prevents detritus from making it through?
