Peninsula owners, do you think 18" width is too narrow?

I've been seeing a lot of 100+ gallon peninsula tanks up for sale in my area and my only concern is the width. These things are 18" wide, which to me, seems extremely narrow. Looking at some of the "standard" sizes from planet, red sea, and waterbox, nothing is under 24".

Any peninsula owners have opinions here?

I’m not one, I own a 425xl and my old tank was a 18”. Don’t do it unless you’re getting it dirt cheap. 6” doesn’t sound much, but it truly is, no pun intended. Plus, more room for fish to swim or aqua scape.

I wouldn’t do a normal tank less that 2ft and a peninsula I would want 3ft as you have 2 scapes to make

I wouldnt go less then 2ft on any tank.

18" is low even for a regular tank. I have not run a peninsula for a number of years, but when I did I found width to be more important than on a regular tank. Mainly because I wanted the rocks to be set back from the viewing panels on both sides. Were I to go peninsula again, 30" would be minimum width for me.

30" minimum! Woah! All good info! I know on my smaller 60g cube, the 24" width feels like a severe handicap. I thought maybe the 18" width on a longer tank would make flow to the end of the tank easier to achieve.
