I'm awaiting my 150 Peninsula tank I have a trigger 36 sump and will be using a Reef Octopus vairos 8 return pump I'm thinking about having my return go over the top to the opposite side of tank from my overflow for better mixing, rather than return on the same side as the overflow.i will have 2 mp 40 so on the overflow one on each side.what do yall think would work best for water flow and mixing .tank will be 60 inches long and 24 inches wide. Thanks for looking and suggestions.

If you are referring to settings for the MP40s, I would run them at 75% or higher in nutrient export mode. If you have a ReefLink you can always schedule multiple different modes throughout the day. I say 75% or higher because I prefer to blast my SPS with flow, but depending on your substrate it could be sent flying with 2 MP40's on that size tank.

Okay so I have a Apex that I will use so I can control the flow and change it up but I guess what I'm trying to figure out is with both those mp40s on the Overflow side if I run my returns coming out by the Overflow if I have good mix the return water with the tank water and I was kind of concerned at the tank being 60 inches long that I might not have any flow at the opposite end as far as thinking about bringing my returns to the office and however I would like it if I didn't have to do that just to keep that side of the tank cleaning with no objects covering up like The View thank you for your reply

I have a similar tank: 5'x2'x2' 150 gallon peninsula. I had a vortech MP60wqd that I tried to use with an MP40 on the overflow end to keep pumps off all 3 visible sides. They didn't have the reach. I switched to two Tunze 6105 pumps and they hit the far end with velocity while still creating turbulent flow throughout the length of the tank. This is an SPS tank with a fair amount of rock work and some sand.

Okay that's most unfortunate I thought they wouldn't be enough I'm not going to be running SPS but I'm going to be running in mix tank and I've been slowly buying equipment for the last 18 months so I'm kind of stuck with what I got for now maybe I will run my return to the other side and try to keep the aquascaping kind of open so I can get some more flow appreciate your your reply and that's also my goal is to keep all three sides free about obstruction and I really wanted to not have any cords in my tank thanks for your reply I appreciate it I will keep those pumps in the back of my mind just in case I have to switch up thank you have a great day

You could always add a 6105 to the same size as the MP40s. They integrate well into an Apex. I think you'd definitely be good, then.

If you don't need a ton of flow you might be okay, but MP40s really struggle beyond about 3 feet of reach.

Okay thanks I have one tank that's already set up as one MP 40 it looks like it gets a little more than that but maybe it's just wishful thinking so I might just set up with a high-flow on one side and low-flow on the other see how that might work out thanks for your response again apreciate it
