To large (over 100g) peninsula tanks have dead spots at front end furthest from sump overflow?

Without power heads in the middle of the glass, how could you avoid dead spots in the water in a long tank?

So this is the grand sum of my knowledge of peninsula tanks in regards to flow. Ideally you want a peninsula tank in which the overflow/return only take up a portion of the "back" wall which would allow you to place some wavemakers near by.

That's the one I would go with if I had a peninsula.
I just can’t see the power circulation well at the other end. Unless you had massive output flow from wave makers, even then, on a 6ft tank, you would lose most the flow by the time it reaches the other end of the tank (?). Interesting..... I like the concept, just doesn’t seem practical.

Yea you’d be surprised by the flow some of the larger wavemakers get. Lookup the waterbox predator island series on youtube they have an episode about their wavemaker setup.

Two pumps on each end. If you put two giant pumps (like MP60's) on the single end the undertow will be massive . Its not a horrible thing having pumps on the peninsula end if you do it right.

I have a Red Sea Peninsula 500 and have two Reefwave 45's mounted vertically next to the overflow. My tank is 4' long and I cannot turn the Reefwave's up to more than 40% because the flow is too strong throughout--including the far end of the tank. I would expect that these beasts would move all kind of water around in a large peninsula.
