Pentair UV Sterilizer External Install on Red Sea Reefer

Has anyone installed their Pentair UV Sterilizer (or one of comparable size) on the outside of their Reefer?

I'm most interested in ensuring that it doesn't create an eyesore/distraction from the tank itself, keeping it out of the sump to avoid crowding an already tight space, and most importantly, making sure that it effectively treats all water that goes into the sump.

I saw that BRS had this configuration (photo below) which seems like a sensible concept if installed on the back of the tank. I'm considering plumbing my return to connect to the horizontally mounted sterilizer on the outside of the back part of the cabinet. Any suggestions, insight, photos, etc. would be greatly appreciated!

Didnt want to see mine it sits behind the tank intake pump is in skimmer compartment and the exit goes in the return side didn't want to drill my stand use a 25 watt pentair aquatics

I'm interested in this too. I want to buy one of the Pentair 50w UV for my Waterbox Peninsula, but I'm worried about the install. I have not done a lot of plumbing. It would be awesome if someone could post additional pictures or instructions or link to a similar setup thread.

Nice- Did you have to drill those holes for the pipes? Im thinking of ways to restructure my return pipes to make room inside of my sump cabinet. I think we have to same tank. Red Sea reefer 350 here.

I did drill the holes for the return pipes. Sump cabinet room is everything. A forstner bit will give you the cleanest holes, which I learned the hard way by using a spade bit. I have a reefer 250.

OMG I didn't even think of that- To just run the Pump to the UV to the return instead of trying to figure out how to split the return to DT and to the UV with a valve. The Vectra acts as the UV flow controller. OK ok - Ive got my UV im just having difficulty trying to configure it. I know nothing about plumbing so Iv been researching all the terms and fittings and such.

I think it’s sold on bulk reef supply. It’s out of stock though.
