Hello all!

Just received my new UV from Pentair, this thing is an absolute beast.

With this post im looking for people who have experience with plumbing these bad boys. Further more which is better, hard or soft. (I'm leaning to soft just because how I need to plumb it for it to work properly.)

Should I reduce it down to a smaller pipe also? Would that be better then leaving it the size pipe needed now?

Thank you in advance!

I’ll post when I install mine this or next weekend! LOL it is huge!

I’ve started the plumbing and my plans are to have it installed on the outside of my WB P7225 on the overflow side of the tank.

This includes reducing from 1.5” to 1” to flow meter to arms that make out to sump area. From there I’ll connect via 1” barbs to flex hosing to return pump and sump.

This allows the unit to be removable in it’s entirety but also have a fixed enough installation that is secure and rigid through to the sump.

Hard or soft plumbing will depend on how you plan on using it and the space you have. I prefer hard but I can see the need for soft. I keep mine on its own pump so I can easily dial in the flow. The 40w is a beast for sure.
