I was looking in my frag tank last night and I noticed something interesting. I noticed that a colony of large zoas/palys (not 100% sure which they are) had speckles/stripes when they were closed up with atnics on. When I bought the colony I loved the color and never thought a second about them being people eaters (and still dont think they are) but with the stripes while they are closed made me wonder.

So my questions is of course....can it have stripes when closed and not be a people eater???

Heres a pic of them open

I have a colony of those......the consensus was that they were in fact possessing the PE characteristics but were a morph of AoG's?

in order to be a people eater it has to have the specks of white on the outside AND a green mouth.

those don't appear to have a green mouth.

ahhhh they do not have a green mouth...the mouth would be white

thanks for the info

I think they are Z. gigantus, though, right? The white striping seems so pronounced. I agree on the PE title, though.

These aren't PEs, and they're striped all over and have a green slit mouth lol
I'm pretty sure someone named them Geicos

I got my own strain of people eaters from here in Hawaii. I've yet to see them for sale anywhere and nobody on any site has been able to identify them.

I call them: People Eaters on Acid (PEoA)

Because of the laws here you can not ship them out. Illegal. I'm working on licenses to introduce these rare PEs to the market. With all the red tape i have to go through, it probably won't be for a while though.
