Pepermint shrimp?

Ok I blasted my larger Aiptasias with a high concentration of the Kalkwasser in the bottom of my mixing jug. I also have a pair of Pepermint shrimp, that have done a decent job with almost all of the rest.

But.... That isn't the reason for my post...

Mine are evil! Twice today I've had a wave pump come off the glass, once earlier and one just now that the lights have ramped down. They've been at 10% blue for about 45 minutes when it came off this time.

Well to make a long story short, twice now once just a few minutes ago and another time about two weeks ago when the blues just came on one of the little turds has bit me (well pinched me) I just about put the lights in the tank lol.

Anyone else have demon shrimp? Been nipped?

Last time I was about to head to work an I thought about grabbing the fryer basket... Tonight I'm opening up this rack of cocktail shrimp an eating them right in front of the tank! I'll teach them lol

Yeah, I'm not too much of a fan of peppermint shrimp. They did a good job on aiptasias, but once those were mowed down they went for my euphyllias :/

Mine eat well I baby them when I target feed if they mess with my Euphyllias the next post will be a recipie lol!

Only use peppermint shrimp for aiptasia removal. All shrimp will bite and clean your hands if you stick them in a tank. That is what shrimp do in nature they are cleaners of the reef. That’s their position in the food chain.

Yeah I know when I used to work at aquarium stores back in my 20's I used to show the kids how they would clean you...

I'd be kind of leery about letting a mantis shrimp try though. Fisherman don't call them "thumb splitters" for nothing lol
