I had an aiptasia problem... I had tried manual removal, aiptasia x, joes juice, they were still popping up everywhere. I have heard stories about peppermint shrimp, both good and bad. I decided to try my hand at a few of them.
I saw them swaying side to side like a couple of slow jazz enthusiasts. I took a video and even put music behind it. It was cute, it looked like they were dancing. I immediately loved them. The aiptasia was eradicated within 3 days of adding these cute little dancing inverts. Such smooth little critters. They aren't shy, they come out and gladly grab flakes and pellets to eat. They kick and punch eachother if they get too close, somehow endearing as well. Wow- such adorable little shrimp.
They brought a lot of character to the tank with their little antics.
Fast forward to a week later....
Both of my large feather dusters have been brutally murdered, my zoas won't open most of the time... my Duncan is constantly annoyed, and my pulsing Xenia has almost been eaten entirely.
My conclusion: I have introduced a couple of little stripey serial killers into my tank. They are dancing again right now like nothing ever happened. If I had a sump, I'd sump the little psychopaths. Never trust dancing shrimp.
