Hello fellow reefers,

Had a few aptasia growing on my live rock and was initially using aptasia x, don't know if its because I'm a newbie using it but it would kill some off, but some would grow back a few days later. On the advice of lfs bought a peppermint shrimp to control them, on the first day he ate one aptasia, since then he has not bothered with them and is constantly grazing on algae on the glass, therefore I have gone back to using aptasia x. Is this normal for a peppermint shrimp?

Peppermints are hit or miss. Aiptasia X only spread them for me.

I used berghia nudibranchs and had a total eradication of aiptasia.

I have read good things so far about “F aiptasia”.

Search for it here and you will find a large thread.

Those are just my experiences and you will find some work sometimes and sometimes they don’t.

+1 to all this
I haven't seen a single negative post about F Aiptasia yet.

I have had good luck with the peppermints. They will eat the new smaller ones and babies. A shot of Aptasia-X will get the bigger ones. Be sure to get it down the throat when its open. Like others, I find Aptasia-X will not totally get rid of them.
