Peppermint Shrimp and Trap

I can’t get the peppermint shrimp to go into the bottle trap. Using different kinds of foods but they don’t go in. Anyone else have the same problem? Or any tips?

Patience is a virtue. Sometimes it takes a while.. especially if you have been after them for a while.

Ya just a piece of shrimp and most luck will be at night. Why are you getting rid of it?

I use a uncooked piece of shrimp, weighted down with a piece of rock.
The first time I used this trick it took a couple nights before I caught any of the peppermints, but once they started going in I got 7 in 4 nights.

I never had any luck catching my peppermint with a bottle trap. Years ago I had one that would pick all the food out my acans. Catching him sucked!

I suppose it would depend on the size of the tank.
In my 50 gallon tank I wasn't worried at all.
But in a small nano tank, it might be a concern.
While the shrimp would decompose over the long run, just a day or so probably wouldn't be that bad.
