Peppermint Shrimp are my hammer coral??

So I woke up this morning and my hammer coral was ripped apart. Newest tank member....peppermint shrimp. What's y'alls experience? Do they usually cause problems like this?

I have had a issue with them, I bought 2 to kill some aiptasia. And they did. After all of it was gone I realized my mushrooms were missing more and more everyday. Then I caught a pep shrimp ripping on them. Lol I had to get rid of them

Yep, I had a peppermint shred one of my hammer's once. Caught the little @$& in the process. Hammer was healthy and never shown any disease.

Had one rogue peppermint shrimp (not a camelback) that decided he liked my torch coral. Caught in the act one day to confirm and off to the LFS he went.

Keep trying. In the meantime, you can cover the hammer with a clear plastic cup that has holes in it to keep the shrimp out.
