Peppermint shrimp eatin by nem

I purchased a peppermint shrimp 3 months ago, he was really doing well I loved putting my fingers near him and letting him clean. So yesterday I go to look for him and I see pieces of him laying next to my LTA, poor lil guy became food for my nem. My question to you is, have you lost any favorite creatures to another and if so what was it?

i wish my nem would eat my peppermint he wont leave him my other nems be!

You sure it wasn't just skin?iv had nems eat the skin of my shrimp after molting.the shrimps normally hide for a while right after molting to so maybe he's just hiding?

I had anemones eat

Cleaner Shrimp
Harlequin Shrimp
Peppermint shrimp
Bangaii Cardinals
Tangs
Hermits
Blennys
Mandarins
Lettuce Sea slugs

I have had peppermint shrimp pick on many anemones. So be lucky it didnt pick on your anemone.

This may be a dumb question and don't take it the wrong way, but are you sure your Peppermint shrimp didn't just molt?

I have had my Peppermint shrimp eat maxi-min anemones, Ducans and various other lps. Peppermints are evil.

I'm positive my shrimp didn't molt I watched him molt three times, the first time freaked me out though, he is nowhere in the tank remains of him were laying next to the nem.

I have had a bubble tip anen for over a year with peppermint shrimp, 2 lysamatta cleaners, coral banded and fire shrimp. In addition to several fish: yelo tang, scooter blenny, clown goby, dottyback and a maroon clown. to date the anem has not eaten anything i havent fed it. The anenome settled at the top of the 90g tank by the returns and the peppermint shrimp lives behind it - out of the way of the maroon clown. When fully extended the anem is bigger than a softball. Not sure if that answers any q's about your situation, but I believe that fish/shrimp naturally know to stay away but could always fall prey to the anem.

I had an anemone (h. crispa) eat an ORA mandarin. I also had my seahorse eat a peppermint shrimp.
