If you have had peppermint shrimp eat your Lps mostly acan/favia how did they do it?
I've had acan now favia start peeling from the base. Doesn't look mangled just peeled up a little. Also one favia is just completely reseeding almost deflating turning pale.
My perimeter are all in check except my n03 is always at zero but I do have gha and bubble algae. So I'm thinking that's why its zero.
One year old tank. All my sps are doing good. Just my lps not looking so hot.

Flow is not to harsh and par is around 150 give or take at my lps area.

Do you have a picture of the shrimp? Sometimes LFS sell camel shrimps and call them peppermint. Camels are not reef safe. Peppermint typically are. They kind of look similar. I know peppermints like to eat nuisance anemones.

I don't have a picture. But I compared them to camels when I got them months ago, they are peppermints.
On a side note they are all my aptasi.

Only thing I can think of is: it has no other food source. Peppermint are typically quite temperamental. But on the other hand, I’ve had fish and inverts that broke the norm. Perhaps go in at night with a red light and watch it’s behavior.

I'll just keep an eye on the. Its probably a nutrient problem.
Thank you
Check your parameters (I’m sure you are). Also look around your tank for any hitchhikers. I can’t think of anything in particular that would do this. I had a nudibranch that loved my zoas. Also had aiptasia that loved to cuddle next to my corals and sting them. A million possibilities.

I'm just going to watch things. My parameters are stable for months now. The only thing I'm doing is lower phosphate slowly to help with algae issues. Also I'm feeding less.
I'll keep a closer eye out for pest.

I think I'll move them in the sump for a while. But I'm very pleased with what they have done to the tank. I had hundreds of aptasi.
