Hello all, a few weeks ago I purchased an invert at my LFS and was told it was a Peppermint shrimp.

After a couple days, I noticed my mushroom was shrinking... I thought it was do to being too close the my Kenya tree... So I moved it the Kenya to the corner near the intake of my canister filter.

A few days from that, my palm tree polyps we're disappearing by the number off of the rock slab it's on. I'm down to about 5 or 6 now and my mushroom is totally gone.

So I'm wondering is this normal for a PS to do? There's plenty to eat and my water parameters are good or do you think this maybe a false cleaner shrimp?

...and yes, that is an empty glass holding up my lights. Small room... small area.... Small tank (2.5 gal). [emoji85] [emoji86] [emoji87]

Thats a perppermint shrimp. Are you spot feeding your corals. Ive heard of peppermint shrimp stealing food from corals and injuring them in the process.

I do, spot feed. But I turn off all filters and watch them. It seems it's when the lights are off or while I'm at work. All the killings are happening.
