Hi, All!

I bought a couple of peppermint shrimp from Live Aquaria a couple weeks ago, and as I've never had them before, I have a couple of questions I'm hoping y'all can answer.

I expected them to be small, but these guys are tiny! They were shipped with some kind of red seaweed plant and I ended up with something black that resembles a tiny shrimp-like creature that's super fast and a snail in the bag. No big deal, but I don't know what the black thing is and I don't know what the red plant is.

I floated, then drip acclimated everything in the bag using DT water, then put all in a plastic 5g clear storage container with 5g DT water, a small heater, thermometer, and small aqueon submersible pump.

My guess is that the plants are for them to hang out and hide in, which is fine, but do I put it in my DT with them after QT?

Also, I know typically shrimp are to be QT'd until they molt, but these guys are tiny. I'm not sure I'll know they molted, especially with the plants in there, so how long should I wait to put them in the DT, and does the fact that a little snail came along change that? (My snails usually go thru 45 days of QT). Also, should I be concerned that since they're tiny, they may get eaten by the fish or cleaner shrimp I have in the DT? I currently have the following in the 75g DT:
1 Royal Gramma
1 Banghai Cardinal
2 little Clowns
1 Springeri Damsel
1 Diamond Goby (that I haven't seen since the first night, likely hiding somewhere)
1 Cleaner Shrimp
Several Scarlet and Blue-legged Hermits and various Snails
Also have 1 little Midas Blenny coming out of QT soon and a small Lemon Peel Dwarf Angel currently going thru quarantine now.

Lastly, any ideas what the little black creature could be?

Thank you for any advice you can give!

That's one of the peps by the suction cup of the filter.

they will get bigger

when they are red they are happy but when they are see through they are stressed

if anything dies in your aquarium they will eat it straight away

they sometimes will attack coral

and they are very territorial

Ok. Thanks. They're too small and I can't really see them enough to see much red.

Any advice on the q's I had?

Very tiny shrimp will be on any fish’s diet. If they will fit in its mouth. What you could do is add a critter cage to your tank. Have them grow out in there while still acclimated to its water. When feeding drop something like a krill or 2 inside for them to eat. When able to see them from outside the tank without a magnifying glass let them out at night.

Thanks for the advice! Are the plants supposed to go into the DT, or no?

They are a macro algae, if get light sure? Can also use netting for shrimp to hide in.
