Peppermint shrimp vs cleaner shrimp

Yes- I have both in my main tank

I have not had the same luck lol. I’ve tried 3 different times and my cleaner has taken them out....at least I think it’s him.

I've had both in the same tank without issues. Maybe just lucky?

I think it’s going to depend on size of the tank and the rock scape. In a small nano like 10g a big cleaner who hates light is going to control the entire shaded area of the tank. My 3-1/2” fire shrimp chases baby tangs out of his area and damsels don’t dair lol. Long as you have more then one shaded overhang for the cleaner to hang out and claim as his own then it should be fine. Worst case you loose a $5 shrimp to your $30 shrimp and don’t have to feed him for a few days lol. Z

They are nitrite sensitive. High nitrites will make them miserable and what fish do you have? (wrasses, triggers, some clowns and rabbitfish will eat them or try to)

Hm never thought about the nitrites. I imagine I’m at 0 though since my tanks been stable for quite some time now. But I’ll have to check lol.

I have 2 clowns, royal gramma, citron clown goby, green clown goby, and I think a watchman (haven’t seen him a while though)

Good information guys but I tried 2 different stores today and no luck finding them
