My peppermint shrimp killed all my aiptasia a while ago but feel like he has been picking at some coral. Any way to get him out of the tank?

The only time I see mine is at night. Maybe look with a red flash light and trick him with a PC of shrimp on a rock with rubber band when lights are off

Yea mine is out and will crawl on my fingers and stuff but can never catch him

You can try a bottle trap, otherwise try placing a piece of food into a net and place it next to the shrimp.. patience is key.

Here is the bottle trap.. just throw in a piece of food and poke some small holes around the bottle to allow some water flow. This design still allows the shrimp to escape but it's much easier to get into the bottle than it is to get out

Do you put this on sand bed?

Did you clip it to the side of tank or put on sand bed?
I have the two little fishes magnetic algae clip. I cliped with that so I can lower to the sand bed with that. It kept it in placed. Only issue I have is, you catch more then you want to some nights.

i took out 2 peppermints a month ago from the same reason. i spent a good hour or so trying to get them to go into a trap, but it didn't work. that night, when all the lights were out, i came down with a flash light and cut circulation to the tank (in anticipation of laying down another trap). to my surprise, the shrimps swam right up to the glass where the light was shining... i can't be that easy i thought; i got my net, and bam, got the shrimps.

so give it a try; cut circulation (to make it easier for shrimp to leave the rocks, get a flash light and a net and see if you can lure them into a corner and grab them.

Once you have had aiptasia, they will often come back after a while. I would try adding some mysis to the tank every day and see whether the shrimp stops picking. It worked for my matted file fish and Klein's butterfly....
