I’d missing my peppermint shrimp 3 days already, I have 2 of them and The last time I saw them was night and tomorrow morning I was worried coz I don’t see my shrimp after being worried I tried to search it and 1 head was there and there’s no trace for the other one maybe molt or eaten by clownfish? I have in my tank was 2 clownfish they’re 4 years old already, and 3 Nassarius snails.

How many rocks do you have in your tank? In my experience, its easy to find a dead shrimp, but can be hard to find a live shrimp thats hiding.
I have 2, one large and one small, I tried to rotate the larger one after they were missing J see nothing but it has a lot of good holes for hiding spots

As long as their aren’t predators , they like some have said are very good at hiding . I have three and rarely, even after searching can find all at the same time . Night time with a blue flash light is the best way but not always successfull . I’ve went two months befor seeing them all fearing that they were gone . Now I will say one thing that if your tank is small that may knock each other off in my opinion as if food is scare I’ve had them do just that . The sure way to know is the if they are true peppermint and you see aiptasia then I would worry or at least be concerned . Good luck !!!

After molt? Coz I only see 1 head without body was left there and nothing else from the other one
After re-reading everything, you mentioned it was a pretty new tank started with dry rock. 2 pieces. You said, " still in the process of being live". Was the tank completely cycled?

They hide very well, travel well that they make ot to overflows and pumps.

Yes it was cycled already and the small one was a live from my friend and took his sponge filter for more bacteria and added a aqua forest bacteria, large rock is for the support and bacteria can live there too

I’ll check my sump but yeah they hide very well and until now after 4 days can’t see them but if they molted I think it’s too long for them to hide or it’s normal?

They can molt and still hide. You can set your phone on video mode from an hour and place a small amount of food in front and WALK AWAY
come back and review video and see if any or all came out to eat
Also look in overflow with flashlight to assure they did not end up there

And certainly harder to hide in a 10 gallon

They are so good at hiding, its not even funny. I find random peppermints in our tanks at work all the time, when we havent had peps in months there’s always one thats been stowed away in a rock or in our sumps.
