Well my troubles with aiptasia arose about a month ago. I decided to buy 2 peppermint shrimps and see if the would eradicate the problem. I have done this many times and have seen the same result. Not seeing any site of the shrimps for the month that they have been in there, i had my first glimpse of them when i turned the lights on today. They were chewing on all my PE's!!!!:cry
people eaters). This has happened before and i dreaded it because all my PE's colonies have been thriving and now will have to be rehibilitated back to full health. Their skirts are ripped up and one polyp in a colony had the center eaten out of it!
They have eradicated all of the smaller aiptasia nems but the bigger ones remain, which will be shot up with hot water soon enough. Seems that i try to eradicate one problem and another one arises. Looks like these guys will have to go soon. I placed the PE's in a high flow area on a eggcrate rack and it seems to be keeping the shrimp away due to the high flow.
ARghh:sad:
