How do you guys get the clown fish to host to the anemone? I like how they host. It makes it look natural. I've been waiting for weeks but they aren't hosting. I bought a pair from the local store and purposely bought the anemone that they were hosting with them. Took it home, set it in the tank..... and the clown has yet to host. They are just swimming around.

Clowns will decide for themselves if they will host.

I have found putting the clowns and anemone in a critter cage together for a few days works. Others have had success taping a picture of a pair of clowns outside the tank, near the anemone will do the trick.

What was said above, some clowns host when they want sometimes never...

To them your tank is a new piece of the ocean and they don't realize it's the same nem they were hosting at the store.

I say be patient and try adding a mirror or a pictures of clowns close to the anemome that may trick them

I once did what you did only to have my occelaris clowns host some gsp instead

Okay. I think I'll try putting a picture of a clownfish with an anemone on the side of the tank. Hopefully it works.

Yeah mine didn't host anything for the first couple months I had them, then they hosted my powerhead, next a frogspawn and now they have decided to host both my frogspawn and Duncan on opposite sides of the tank so they have a vacation home essentially.

Wow thats pretty cool. I think part of my problem is that the anemone keeps moving around the tank.

They do seem to like spaces that don't move. Granted, they'll follow the frogspawn wherever in the tank i move it. They took out one of its heads at one point.

Maybe I should go get a frog spawn to give them a variety of host.

Wanting to rub their bodies against the something soft like nems or torches or frog spawns are in the clown fish's blood. They will want to do that regardless...... However, it might take a long time for the clowns to find the nem specially when the nem is tiny and the tank is huge. How big is your tank? Do you see the clowns swimming around the tank and they have actually seen the nem before?
My tank bred babies clown fish did not leave their caves for months.
Lets us know more about your setup and we will have some ideas for you :-)
