Just pulled my third cantalope size rock covered in metalic green shrooms and set it outside in a bucket. These shrooms kill any corals they touch. My tank is 11 years old and these shrooms have been in there for about 9 years. Like corals, if you have 2 polyps and they double you get 4 polyps. Unfortunately when you have 300 mushrooms and they all multiply things get out of control. On the 3 rocks I pulled in the last week I estimate that I removed 400 - 500 mushrooms. The temp outside has been below 0 for the last 2 weeks here in wisconsin so setting them in a bucket and taking them outside should do the trick. Then a brushing and rinse and the rock will be ready to go back in. Attached is a pick of some of the remaining shrooms. Still probably 100 in the tank. Sweet revenge for them messing with my corals.
