So the wife has ok'd a new tank, within reason.... I have found a 125 perfecto tank for decent $$ and would have some left for livestock..... What's you guys opinion of them??

I can't find a website for them anywhere... But they usually get compared to all glass.... Anyone have experience with them?

Hmm... They get compared to all glass a lot... I think they are owned or own marine land.

Perfecto Manufacturing is the maker of Marineland aquariums and is owned by United Pet Group.

So are they good quality? If you were buying a new tank, would you buy one of theirs?

125 is a 6 foot tank, compared to the 120 being a 4 foot.

So that comes down to how much space you have, can you afford to light the extra 2 feet ...etc.

I like the 6 foot long tank better in my opinion. It's also a hair shallower than the 120, which I don't find the need for 24"+ high.

do you want a 4 foot tank or a 6 foot tank. If I had to choose I would go witht he 6 foot tank. just cause I like the longer tanks

A 125 is only 18" thick where a 120 is 24". 6" doesnt sound luke a lot but it is. I went from a 75 to 150 both 4' tanks and that 6" is alot when stacking rock

Well I will be upgrading from a 65g 36" x 18" x 24" tall.... So either is an upgrade... I have 3 AI Vegas for lighting so either way I will be fine.

IMO, the advantages of a 6' long 125 outweight the advantages of a 24" deep 120. With the 6' tank, there is more to see in that 6' span, and there are certain fish that prefer 6' swim length, like tangs for example. The 24" depth to the 120 does make aquascaping easier, but you can get quite creative and do quite well with the 18" depth of the 125. The 125 was my original choice, but ended up with the 150 since I like the tall picture window look.

With regards to Perfecto brand tanks, they are now Marineland. That's the brand of my 150. All Glass Aquarium is now Aqueon. I also have that tank brand, in a 110. Both are excellent tanks. Are you looking at their pre-drilled reef-ready tanks?

Then go for it. The 125 Perfecto RR tank has twin overflows, another good thing. One potential drawback to the 6' long 125 gallon Perfecto tank s that it has only one central brace up top. That means that there are two opening of 3' span. Most MH light fixtures for 6' tanks have 3 bulbs, so that the central bulb will sit right over that central brace creating shadows or at worst, melt it if it's placed too close. Ask me how I know. If you are planning LED's or T5's for lights, it won't be a problem as you can easily get two 3' light fixtures.
