My tank PH drops every after 3 or 4 days. I want the permanent solution in order to maintain PH. I used PH buffer but this is temporary solution. My room is totally packed where my tank has been placed. Pls advise me permanent solution

What is your pH? Are you running a skimmer? When are you taking your reading? There is a normal diunal (daily) change in pH throughout the day, being lower in the morning and higher in the evening, so it's important to take your measurements at the same time of day for accuracy. Using a pH buffer will only have a temporary affect on your pH since its the CO2 in your system that controlls it. Continued use of the buffer will simply leave you with elevated levels of alkalinity, since its really just an alkalinity supplement anyway. A better solution if your need to elevate your pH would be to open some windows, or if that isn't practical, run an airline to an outside air source.

There are several ways to raise pH, but they require continuous action in some fashion if you are unable to remove the excess CO2 in your home air that is causing low pH.

What is the pH? It may not actually be low enough to agonize over.

The ways to boost it include fresher air somehow, an airline bringing in outside air to a skimmer, a CO2 scrubber on the skimmer, and dosing limewater (kalkwasser) every day, enough to maintain alkalinity where you want it.

My latest pH article will be out soon, but these have more:

CO2 Scrubber.

For me, Kalk and a protein skimmer helped stabilize my Ph. The skimmer helped aerate the water and the kalk keeps my alk at about 9kh. I'm not sure there's a permanent solution, but this combo worked for me. I check my Ph 3x/day so things don't get out of whack.
