Does anyone have the link to the peroxide thread for killing hair algae? I've neglected my tank for a while and now have a successful hair algae farm. Im ready to risk it all and try it.

I don't have the link but 1ml to 10Gal of DT Water is the normal starting point, I stepped up to 1.5ml/10Gal with no I'll effects long term. I only used the peroxide as a way to kick start my battle and currently I have a few troops (Turbo Snails) munching away at it and it's just over half gone now.

Tried it unsuccessfully. The old school way is still the best way IMO. nutrient/light control/supply water zero PO4
What type of algae did you have? Did you dose your DT or take rocks out and poor it on them?

Dosing the whole tank with H2O2 is kind of dangerous IME. I've heard of people having success with it but it's a very fine line between the right amount and overdosing it. I nuked my tank a couple years back dosing it for Bryopsis.

Good luck man

Fluconazole , reefflux is a safer bet. Grab some more snails too. When the algae starts to fail, appearantly it becomes quite tasty.

How did the NUke go? Did you notice it right away? About 6 days ago, I was putting peroxide on rocks, and setting them back in. Well, an entire bottle of hydrogen peroxide went into the tank lol, %3 though, im not sure what % you guys are using.

Let me say by, it DID NOT KILL THE APTASIA. and, i used ALOT. my RBTA sunk in for 2 days, now hopefully is healthy, i documented all the other coral as well.

Did you have nitrate and phosphate spikes ?, and if so what did you use for export during treatment period as I believe treatment is for 14 days without water change . Sorry for the late question

I used peroxide for this and while it works well, it messes with overall chemistry, mostly because of the amount I had to use. Have you looked into dinoX? I had great luck with that.
