I have red turf algae getting a little out of control on some of my aquascape. Based on where it is, I figure my best bet is to dismantle my rock work a little, remove the affected pieces and give them a dip and vigorous scrubbing in a peroxide solution. But what concentration of 3% peroxide do I need to use, and for how long does it need to be applied? I've read everything from 1ml per 10gal of water to 50/50 peroxide to water, and from giving it a quick spritz vs soaking it for 30 minutes. All I want to do is kill off the turf algae (and maybe get rid of a little bubble algae, which my foxface and trochus snails have thus far ignored), not nuke the rocks, but I only want to have to tear everything apart the once. Thanks for any advice you can give!

This  is red turf algae, right?

Dilution would be for dipping coral. If you are just scrubbing algae, use full strength.

Oh. So if I were to soak these rocks in full strength peroxide, that's.....quite a lot of peroxide. Some of the rocks are a little too big/awkwardly shaped to fit in a 5gal bucket.

Soaking not necessary. Manually remove what you can, rasp surfaces with a stiff brush of some sort, toothbrush is fine, pour on H2O2, scrub with brush some more, let sit for 5 minutes, rinse well and put back.

Oh! Much easier than a soak. Thank you!
