My Vlaminghi I have since 2008 has popeye somehow. He is eating well and presents his normal happy demeanor, is in QT I first treated with Kanaplex (for gram negative), and then Maracyn (gram postive). He is on his last day of Maracyn with no change. Should I put him back in the display and ride it out, or should I try Sulfa, or some other treatment?

Thanks in advance

Popeye can be bacterial - or other causes as well, If you're sure you dosed the medication correctly - it may have just been from an injury - or an injury - any possibility of flukes?

Likely a scratch but pics under white lights will be helpful
If it’s just one eye, treatment will be Maracyn which is ethromyacin for 5 days in quarantine

What was the outcome? Did the eye ever get better? I'm having the same issue with my yellow tang. Treated with Kenplex then erythromycin twice with no change. Also thinking of just putting him back in the DT
