Thanks for checking out my journal, unfortunately, I had to pull the verve's down, due to one of them getting super hot, and going into dimming mode. Pretty let down, I was looking forward to using them It was slave messing up, plus had 3 diodes out as well, so halide up and running.

KH- 7.7dkh

Pretty much the parameters where the tank was set, based on mixing 34ppt salinity, using TMPR salts. Frags have been in the tank since Saturday, good signs of coral health, pe is good, colors will shift a bit from LED tank raised to MH.
Nutrients are low, as I suspected, so I am feeding 3 times per day frozen, and using vitality, aminomix, and energy from Aquaforest. Have not tested po4, but am seeing some hair algae come in, no worries, will get some Red Led Mexican Hermits this weekend, they will love it
no3 was tested Saturday, and was .1 on salifert, too low, so will keep up with current plans of fish feeding and coral supplements. Some pics today

More life than that now mate, breaking the cube down, and decided not to part with all lps, and shrooms. The idea of maintaining 2 tanks seemed easy, but invariably someone suffers, so combine them with same strategy, no sand, heavy flow, they make hopefully, but sps is the key here, lol. Also moved 3 fish over as well Also have to decide on whether or not to keep my palys tomorrow, we shall see...

Hey Tim,
I get it, happens to me in several threads too, but all good man This thread is going to get interesting, as all 18 sps in first go around are from LED'S, I am already seeing colors shifting, signs of new tissue growth where frags were plugged, so the response from halide has been quite positive. I will be adding more lighting in the form of 2 led panels on either side of the halide, these will be run with less intensity, more of a blue spectrum for dusk/dawn ramping, and color blending with halide. More to come on that later

Here is an update of details, some have not been shared yet, I think it important to document exactly what I am doing. I know there are several different ways to run reefs, but for SPS, I have always been a true believer in high light, low nutrients, lots of fish, heavy feedings, and powerful export. I know there is a trend to run heavier than traditionally thought on nutrients, and if this works, great, if the colors are killer, why fix it? That said, I have been a proponent for years of pushing colors beyond lineage, in some cases, showcasing colors that are mind bending, on standard, or no-named corals. Also, my tanks where not ever run on LED, I have been a T5 snob since the days of "The Great Halide T5 debate), 2006. Many systems, if run properly, such as Zeovit or Aquaforest have intrigued me, and fortunately I have been able to successfully run both, as well as others. When I bought the system, and realized that the skimmer was rated for 200 gallon, heavy stock, I knew that I would not need to push the system with carbon and bacteria. I do have means to load the sump with bio media, or algae if needed, but right now just good powerful skimming, heavy feeding with frozen, and let the bare bottom with detritus constantly suspended be the nutrients needed to stimulate sps. That said, I will run this reef with NSW values in mind, many are afraid to see alk lower than 8, personally I have had my best success between 6.5-6.8 dkh. I have fallen to 5.3 before, no color shift, no necrosis, or any other issues. Not advocating that, but just pointing out that there are other ways to reef, and sometimes hype is just that

Lighting:
Left side of tank HME Block2 Led~ Blue UV only, peaking at 50% mounted 4" from surface, with a slight angle towards center of tank, about 15 degrees. This tilt allows more blue towards center where halide is mounted.
Middle of tank 250 watt Radium~ 7 hour schedule, will back down when right side complete. Mounted 10" from surface.
Right side of tank~ Just ordered a mounting kit for the one good Verve panel, so I will mount to equal height of the halide, I will run Blues and UV only as well, likely around 70%.

Livestock:
Fish~ True Perc, Cryptic Sixline Wrasse, 4x Pajama Caridnals, Copperband Butterfly
SPS~ CB Malificent, JF Homewrecker, WWC Yellow Tip, ARC Firecracker, Pink Caddi, Silver Surfer Tenuis, Miyagi Tort, Cali Tort, 2 Unknown acros, Tricolor Valida, Rainbow Tenuis, Green Slimer, Sunburst Monti, FF Digi, Purple Stylo, Spongodes, Meteor Shower Cyphastrea
LPS~ Large Duncan, 5 Ultra/Rainbow Acans
Soft~ a few mushrooms, nothing too special just for color in low light

Feeding/Export:
2 to 3 times daily, sometimes more. Reef Frenzy, PE Mysis. Also using some Aquaforest supplements like Amino Mix, Vitality, and Energy. Not sure if I will continue the use once I get more fish in the system. Later I will update a pic of the skimmer performance in just a week. The amount and darkness of the skim is simply insane. I tested nutrients Friday, 0.00 PO4 and 0.5 NO3 using Salifert and Hanna Handheld. I am running active carbon in a reactor, only 3/4 cup Aquaforest. I am currently using a filter sock as well, I will probably only change weekly unless I see nutrient rise.

Great updates Perry - inside my heart smiles at the "misfortune " of the verves having some problems. The halide/led combo will be awesome - some of my most favorite displays utilize this lighting mix.

+1 on your nutrient import/export methodology, seemingly very close to nature with low N/P and tons of food. I just switched to TMPR, so am slowly shifting my parameters in both the grow out and display. If I was less lazy, I'd run N/P lower, and major elements higher - but ultimately it translates to more work for me .

If I was less lazy, I'd run N/P lower, and major elements higher - but ultimately it translates to more work for me .

Thanks for following along
The decision over anything else from the cube has been made, I won't add anything else, and have a buyer for all remaining shrooms and palys. I will stay to the plan and focus on entrusting corals on the floor of the tank, maybe a chalice here or there, but mostly montis. I know z&p's would entrust nicely, but don't want to risk spreading to the rock. Glad I found someone to buy before I allowed my emotions to make my decision, lol.
I too am happy what I was handed regarding lighting, and am confident that the intensity and color will be suitable to the eye, but more appropriat to satisfying the needs of the corals.

Skimmate produced in one week. This is only a 60 gallon tank with around 25 gallons in the sump. I put a standard refractometer on top of collection cup for a size reference.
