I’m thinking of doing a closed loop or dual overflows and running two return pumps that would utilize the holes the closed loop was likely using. I might still run a closed loop though. It depends on the diameter of the two holes and the research I need to do regarding the closed loop.

The upgrade is almost twice as big as I was originally planning, yet half the price. I’m likely getting a 220. It’s about an hour away and it’s likely going down on Sunday.
Now I just need to Shanghai someone of a couple of someones to help row that boat of a tank into the van and into the apartment. Thankfully no stairs involved from what I’ve gathered. There are definitely none here save a slight 4 inch curb but if we drive up onto it that’ll take care of that.
I’ve accepted his offer and originally I was going to get it tomorrow but we have to babysit tomorrow and before that we have to take a friend of ours to do some errands. Hopefully he’ll be ok with me coming on Sunday. If he’s ok with Sunday then it’s game on!
I’m excited and nervous at the same time. I’ll have to wait a bit to fill it but just getting it home will be amazing. Thankfully the floor is concrete and level. This thing is literally 2 1/2 of my 90 gallon cubes! I’ll have to get a stand built which will happen pretty quickly. Here is a picture of the tank. Someone drilled a bunch of holes in it. My guess is that they had dual overflows and a closed loop or it was a coast to coast overflow and a closed loop but I’m probably wrong. If any of you know what kind of overflow I should be using on this please let me know.
If you use those as return lines you'll need check valves.

True. I’ll also use true unions and ball valves on the drain lines.

MH is what I’m going for. LEDs are ok but nothing like halides. I modified an older high bay luminaire so I could mount the transformer remotely. I screwed the reflector into the canopy I built for the 90. It covered that tank so well that there was no shimmer even though the light was mounted about a foot above the surface. It’s a 400 watt fixture so it was super bright with the 6500k lamp I have. Now I just need two more 400 watt luminaires and lighting will be taken care of.
After looking at several builds, closed loop for water flow, sump for filtering. It's actually pretty nice. Seeing as adding power heads can make it difficult to remove and clean, as where the pump for the closed loop would be easier to manage. Random flow nozzles would add a nice touch!
Thank you. The more I think about it the more a closed loop and a sump/fuge sounds good. I’ll utilize the two lower holes especially for that purpose. I’m going to keep looking at closed loop systems as I have a design in mind but I want to make sure I get this right the first time.

Thank you! I shall. I might actually use schedule 80 plumbing on this reef as well since the valves are of better quality from what I’ve read. It’ll be more expensive but still not bad for this build. After all the stand will be substantially shorter than the stands I usually build.
It’ll have to go on end to turn it in the direction it’ll have to go to make it in but I won’t leave it that way. Thank you for telling me before I did it lol.Don't need sch 80 piping , and if at all possible don't stand on end, JMO...
