Can someone id this algae for me and how to get rid of them? It’s very tough and not your typical hair algae.

I don't know the exact species but I have seen my trochus, astrea, and cerith snails eat it before. If you are up for a biological control method then I recommend them.

I have turbo, astrea, ninja star snails in my tank. They won’t touch it

Ceriths are the best in terms of eating a wide variety of things. Trochus are a closed second. The astreas are a distant 3rd in my experience.

If you're not interested in trying some ceriths, then I recommend looking into chemical treatments like fluconazole.

Not that I think it's an issue, but what are your nutrients at? Just curious.

I have the same thing. It doesn’t cone off easy and seem like once I get a handle on it it comes back.

How old is that system @dragonfisher33 ? I have seen that a few times before, each time in systems <12 mos old. In one case, it was just a phase that passed. A couple of other tanks, we just dosed fluconazole (Flux) and it was gone in a week or so without any other casualties.
