Persistent leak on DIY plumbing

There is most likley a flaw on one of the parts.
Could be from the factory or mishandeling.
The problem with tape and mutiple wraps is the RedSea fitting could split.

Fill the treads witch silcone and tighten it up let sit few hours no leak. And u should be able to loosen it back up if it's just silcone

If it's in your sump, and down near the pump, wouldn't a leak just leak back into the sump?

Why would that even be an issue? I have a small leak where the spa flex didn't quite seal to the pvc adapter. It's in my sump, near the pump and just drips back into the sump. Non issue.

You are right it drips back to the sump. However, I want to solve it as I don't want to deal with ongoing salt creep clean up (if the salt won't seal the leak at all) and I am worried it will develop to bigger leak. I want to deal with it right now when the tank is not set up yet.

I filled the seam on the inside and the outside of both rims with aquarium clear silicone. I will test tomorrow. I am giving it 48 hours drying time.
