Hi guys~

Over the last week or so, I’ve noticed these white particles in the water column. I’ve done two water changes and they are still there, not even looking like any less than before the water change.

I’ve looked at other threads that start with what seems like the same issue I have, but folks say they are micro bubbles and the thread dies.

I don’t think these are bubbles. I do have a very active pistol shrimp. Could his constant renovation be causing this?

Tank is 6 months old and I’ve had the shrimp for about a month.

Thanks for any help!

Here’s a visual. Whatever they are, they don’t seem to be bothering anyone but me.

I can't view the video but if they are microbubbles then you need to find the source. If they are small particles then you can remove them by runNing your tank water through a very small micron sock or use a polishing filter like the MarineLand Polishing Canister Filter.

I don't think they are bubbles...they are actually sitting on the top of the water. It looks like large dust particles, if that makes sense.

Try the Marineland Magnum Polishing Filter. It was recommended by Than in one of his Tidal Garden's equipment recommendations videos. I use it to polish the water after I do a major tank clean. I also use it as a temporary carbon reactor in the rare instances when I want to run carbon. Very useful piece of equipment to have around.
