Hiya dudes and dude'ets to cut a long story short I was using a phosphate remover and my levels are rather high at the moment , I have sins bought myself a reactor and started using bio phos which I was told was one of the best removers on the market.

I have been using it for about 4 days now and my levels still are not dropping and I don't understand lol,

How long do these things take to remove phosphates and would there be anything I could be doing wrong?

Thanks for the time guys :) x

Have you checked your phosphates in a newly mixed batch of water to see if you may be adding more in with every water change?

Yes dude I have , I check every batch before I do a change, also I did my last water change just before I added the reactor to my sump so no new water has been added sins

Drop in some Phosphate E or SeaKlear, you can rid your tank of Phosphates in a matter of days with the liquid stuff, then run the system with your reactor.

GFO high copacity works good. If that don't help look into vodka dosing. But all in all u should find out how the phosphates are getting into your system. Frozen food, lack of skimming, too much food, bad water etc. find the source first...

Thanks for that guys , think I have sorted it now, my levels were that high they were reading off my chart, so after setting the reactor up it tuck the first 4 days to bring the reading down to my charts highest level , now it's been running for a little longer I'm not showing any every time I do my test.

I don't feed that much as my tank has not been up long enough to support the fist I really want so far I only have 3 chromis , a coco worm and a snowflake eel (when he decides to show himself once a week if that lol)

I will get a hold of some of the liquid stuff though just incase , and I looked into carbon dosing but for my tank it seemed like it Wouldent be worth it.

The source of my phosphates was just a really bad choice in phosphate remover to begin with , and wasent doing a very good job hens why I got the reactor

But again thank you for the advice guys it's very much appreciated :)

It's about an inch deep and about 3 months old but there's only a very light bio load in the tank
