i have an aptsasia epidemic in my tank . I am almost to the point of taking all my animals back to the LFS where he has said he would give me credit on my livestock. breaking the 90 gal down for complete cleaning while taking all the live rock out for a cleaning in acid or baking in the Mississippi sun for a few days. However this is the last resort as all of my fish have been with me for several years as well as a hammer coral have had now for about 7-8 years. There are literally thousands in the tank. Suggestions?

file fish , several of them . They do well for a period of time until the three fish mafia (purple tang, fox face and Tomini tang) send in carlo the clown to take them out. these four fish are fantastic together but in recent years they are not nice to new additions.

Berghia nudibranchs and true peppermint shrimp may help, but it sounds like you got a pretty big load of aiptasia going on!

If there is a lot, berghia is the way to go. They can reproduce. Problem is they may not get all of the aiptasia, in the long run. For me, it took maybe 8-12 months before I noticed another anemone after adding the nudi's.

I would drop like 30 peppermint shrimp in there and let them do work ! They haven't let me form till this day

peppermints! Find out a good LFS that actually has some that work! They've worked out for me.
