A shiver just went down my spine. I can't say for sure this is what you have, but it sure looks like a
Cribrinopsis crassa anemone.
About 15 years ago there were a bunch of anemones for sale, being sold as GBTA's. I bought one! Nice looking anemone. These were all the rage......All my friends had one, and if they didn't, I'd give them one. don't have a good camera, but here's a picture:
Within a month it split.....never got very big, slightly larger than a quarter. And again, about a month later those split, and before you knew it, I had over fifty of these little guys. I eventually found out that they were
Cribrinopsis crassa anemone, a small anemone from the Mediterranean. It never gets big and reproduces like rabbits. I spent a day plucking all there guys out!
Again, not saying that is what you have, but if you have a dozen of so within a couple months, there's a good chance.
