I don't have any pest in my tanks, but I like to keep fish that has utility in my tank, such as CBB for aiptasia control. I have a sixline wrasse that is very ill behaved towards my cleaner wrasse, and it prevents me from keeping a springeri dottyback. So I came up with two options with to replace my sixline, a yellow coris or a melanurus. Which is the better option?

Depends on the size of your tank. Ducky wrasse is the best pest eater I've kept, but it'll hit 7".

I have both yellow coris and melanurus wrasses in my 100gal system. Both are constantly hunting. No aggression issues on both. If I am to choose one out of the 2, i will pick the yellow coris due to color :)

Wait, I have a red mandarin, will the yellow coris outcompete it for food? Would they be fine together? I never add pods, besides seeding the tank from the start. My sixline also hunts for pods constantly, but the yellow coris is a bigger fish. Would melanurus be the better option?

I have 4 wrasses and 1 green spotted goby...and i never add pods. All are healthy. I do however feed 2 cubes of frozen mysis daily. My goby will stay at the bottom of the tank and will eat any mysis that sink near it. All my fishes have been with me for 13mos now
