I'm a bit ignorant about this subject and i was hoping for a bit of an education from the coral gurus.

I've read 100's of threads about pest control and pest break-outs infecting and sometimes destroying entire systems. this is a scary reality in this hobby. The more i read it seems to be somewhat more common than i thought and if it is indeed a common issue with pests entering our tanks then how do the professionals at LFS handle pests and keep it under control so us customers dont notice it? Never once have i been in a FS and seen any signs of pests or tank crashes occurring.

Just curious about this topic.

You've probably only been in well kept shops that take great care to qt all livestock and regularly treat and maintain their systems for pests. Alternatively, i've been in a wide array of shops; some that do a great job keeping pests at bay and others that do not. I've seen a fair amount of LFS's which pest filled tanks, bleaching coral and sick fish.

Many people are very passionate about making their home aquarium look like a piece of the ocean that has been transplanted in their homes. Some people are pretty good at breeding their own fish and have formed groups where they can exchange their home grown aquarium plants, fish and coral as well. Attempting to start a reef in your aquarium is not the sort of advice guru will dole out to beginners in this hobby. In order for the coral reef to survive you must provide good saltwater to the tank at regular intervals. One can call some professionals like Pest Control Redding CT, Pest Control Ridgefield CT, Pest Control Shelton CT, Pest Control Stratford CT or any other which one finds near by. If one does not wish to take professional help. There are methods available to keep it safe and clean with their own.
